WOOD SURFACES

Elite Design uses pre catalyzed lacquers to finish our wood products. It is a process of thermoplastic curing which has been enhanced with urea and melamine resins. These resins convert from a liquid to a solid thus forming a finish that has improved chemical resistance, mar resistance and a tougher more durable coating. Only few simple guidelines will ensure that your furniture will bring you a lifetime of use and enjoyment.

Dust with a dampened soft clean cloth very lightly to remove abrasive particles that build up daily. A dry cloth can leave hairline scratches on the finish.

A non-alkaline soap can also be used very sparingly to remove a build-up of dirt or stains. Dry the surface immediately.

Do not use residential or commercial furniture polish products, cleaning products, and window cleaners with ammonia on your furniture since this will cause yellowing and build up of polishes and silicon and will damage the finish.

Liquid left on the surfaces could soak through and damage the finish leaving white marks and raised wood grain. Wipe any spills immediately.

Do not place hot items directly on wood surface, this will leave white rings as moisture is trapped in surface and will permanently damage the finish.

Items with rubber or plastic feet placed on your furniture will leave indelible marks on the finish with time, use felt instead. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause fading to the finish and the wood itself. Avoid extreme temperature and moisture changes as wood will continue to expand and shrink in extreme conditions.
